what is global warming

Definition Of Global Warming. Global warming can be defined as increase of overall world temperature that gradually warms the earth’s atmosphere.

The increase in global average temperature has been cause by an increase concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Meanwhile, both volcanoes and solar variation also contribute to global warming.

The gases that prevent heat escape from Earth’s atmosphere called greenhouse gases. The activity of human such as power generation, car emissions, oil refining or even burning fossil fuels has been release these gases. A few example of greenhouse gases are carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, chlorofluorocarbon and water vapor .

Carbon dioxide blocks infrared radiation reflected off the earth’s surface from leaving the atmosphere. It means carbon dioxide prevents heat escapes from the earth. Methane is created by the production and distribution of oil, coal, natural gas and also by incomplete fossil-fuel combustion. Nitrous oxide is produced through the use of natural fertilizer, commercial fertilizers and fossil fuel combustion. The other greenhouse gases are chlorofluorocarbon or CFC. CFC gases are produced by industries and are used for Styrofoam, spray-can propellants, electronic circuit, refrigerant, etc. And, water vapor is completely produces through natural process.

Because of global warming, the temperature in the evening and in the winter will increase.. The global warming will cause the water from the ground will evaporate more quickly, then some area will become dry from the previous time, melting of polar ice caps, extreme weather condition, rising sea surface level, floods, above average rainfall, storm and hurricane will occur more frequently and other worse condition could be happen.

What we can do about global warming are saving energy, use green energy such as solar energy, wind energy and other energy form that does not produce any pollutants and gases that are dangerous for the earth, planting a tree and other plants that will help reducing the greenhouse gases in our atmosphere are some ways that people can do about global warming.
